in reply to Perl Monks Login Problem

This happened to me twice. Both times, with IE6. The solution in both cases was to open the Internet Options dialogue box under the Tools menu of IE, and select the "Delete Cookes" button. Next, exit IE. Restart IE, and return to the Perlmonks website. If your experience is like mine, at that point after re-entering your username and password you'll find that you're able to log in again.

Reminds me of the old joke about three engineers riding in a car.

One was a chemical engineer. One was a mechanical engineer, and one was a Microsoft software engineer.

Their journey went fine for awhile, but suddenly and without warning the car stopped running.

With confidence the chemical engineer said, "I know how to fix this; we need to adjust the carburrator's fuel/air mixure, and we'll be back on the road in no time." ...but after fiddling around with it he couldn't get it running.

The mechanical engineer scoffed at his collegue and said, "I can fix this problem. We need to adjust the timing so the spark fires with the pistons top-dead-center. We'll be back on the road in no time." But again, after fiddling around awhile he was unable to get the car going again.

By now the Microsoft software engineer could barely contain himself. Chuckling under his breath at his comrades' ineptitude, he said, "You guys just don't get it... I've seen this all before. What we have to do is close all the windows, shut the car down, restart it, and then open all the windows again."

....they were up and running in no time.
