To control my Shoutcast server at home when I'm at work, I wrote a Perl CGI that indexes all my MP3s on my local hard drive at home, and then presents me with a web interface that lets me tag which ones I want to hear, then it builds a local playlist, reloads WinAMP with the new playlist (Playlists are just text files), and then redirects my browser to a PLS file with my home IP in it, which launches WinAMP on my work machine and streams the chosen MP3s from home. No need to burn my entire MP3 collection onto CD-Rs to bring to work, and I get on-demand custom access to my 3,000+ MP3s at home.. I love Perl.

so......where is the perl script. You do believe in OSS right? ;-)
haha.. once it's complete enoguh for distribution, I plan on releasing it, but right now the code is.. how would I put it.. embarassing? =) I guess I should create a profile so people can reach me.. Once I get a completed version, I will re-post here..
I worked up a PERL script that takes Audiofile Internet Companion output, breaks it up into HTML files (1 file per album), creates pages per letter (a-z), and creates a TOC of all the pages. It also links related MP3's on the HD to the individual songs. My next trick was to put together what you have already done... I see my code as embarassing as well.
