Go to your home node and click "User Settings". There are two options: Replies Header Depth and Replies Text Depth.

Don't feel bad, I looked for it awhile back, and couldn't find it either, but I was too embarassed to ask. :-)

Perhaps this belongs in the latest confessional, but it was worse for me. Took several trips to the User Settings page to finally get rid of that message about the note depth. Somehow I rose above my lapse in intelligence and look at the monk I am today.

Look at the PM FAQ--specifically Help for User Settings. Also, in the future, a question like this is probably best asked in the Chatterbox.

I posted a patch many moons ago that adds a full set of settings links to the top of the users homenode. Unfortunately it never got applied and finding your way to the appropriate settings pages can be a bummer. In fact it was this very issue that motivated me to post another patch that allowed such links to be added to the title bar. But alas it isnt applied yet either (and probably never will be mores the pity.)

The links youll probably want to find are: User Settings, Nodelet Settings and a link to edit your homenode that can't be produced via PM's linking system. (At least not in a way I can put up a link and everybody can follow it to the right place for themselves.) Luckily as a short-cut you can always just cut and paste the link to your home page and then add &displaytype=edit to the url and you will have access to modify your home node text and your notepad.

There are links to these places from the bottom of your homepage, but IMO they are easily overlooked and somewhat ambiguous. "Edit your user information" should probably say "Edit your Home Page and/or Scratchpad". Had my Titlbar-Patch been applied, these would have all been links on the titlebar that you could optionally enable to get to these pages easily (or for that matter any given place you like).
