GCC for Parrot

Parrot is going to become an yet another platform supported by GNU Compiler Collection.

Vishal Vatsa from Ireland is going to teach GCC to compile into Parrot byte-code. This task is underlying in his master's thesis, and so there is a fair chance that this task will be successful.

Does that mean at once that you'll be able to compile Java to Parrot? I mean, gcc can compile Java, can't it?	[reply]

Does that mean at once that you'll be able to compile Java to Parrot? Yes; page 13 of the introductory paper specifically states that "the aim of my project is to develop a cross compiler based around GCC and GJC, to re-target Java to Parrot."	[reply]
