XML parsing in perl with Xerces

srivats has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Dear All,
I am kind of stuck with handling XML in perl with Xerces. I have got the parser installed. I want to how do you manipulate a DOM tree in the memory and use it for processing. Specifically can some one give Examples for

removeChild
appendChild
replaceChild
[download]

in the existing DOM, which apparently changes the DOM structure in memory. _{janitored by ybiC: Remove innapropriate <pre> tags around entire post, minor format tweaks}

The documentation for XML::Xerces is ... lacking. However, all is not lost. A quick search on CPAN finds XML::Xerces::BagOfTricks, which does have good documentation. I'd start there. Another question is why you have to use XML::Xerces when XML::Parser is free ... ? ------ We are the carpenters and bricklayers of the Information Age. Another question is why you have to use XML::Xerces when XML::Parser is free ... ?
