Having just become a Scribe (woo-hoo!) I was wondering what I could now do. So I went to Voting/Experience System and clicked on Scribe. But that's just a blank page. I'm sure, when I first signed up, that Scribe could do something that lower levels can't.

Has something changed?

I just fixed the node -- somehow, a open-comment tag was left topen, rendering the entire text invisible.

Aha. That explains it. Thanks for fixing it.

A scribe can read
by PodMaster (Abbot) on May 28, 2004 at 08:41 UTC
A scribe can read Level 5: Beadle

update: apparently anyone can read Level 5: Beadle. It used to be that you could only read those nodes once you reached that level. Also, I vaguely recall something about not being able to post in the Q&A section until you reach level 4.

MJD says "you can't just make shit up and expect the computer to know what you mean, retardo!"
    I run a Win32 PPM repository for perl 5.6.x and 5.8.x -- I take requests (README).

I must be missing something here. Yes I know I can read Level 4: Scribe - I referred to that in my OP. However that node is empty, therefore somewhat less than informative. Surely there must be something more interesting than "being able to read an empty node"?

I would have said, "A Scribe can RTFM"

If I remember right, there was some more information on that page when I became a scribe. What has happened to the page since?

    Cheers, Sören

      http://perlmonks.thepen.com/198665.html says:

You can now add to Categorized Questions and Answers. This section of PerlMonks is designed for questions that are FAQ-like or cookbook-like in nature -- that is, questions you already have the answer for and are posting for the general edification of the PerlMonks community.

It seems Level 5: Beadle has reverted, perhaps some god restored something from a db backup and inadvertantly overwrote it with old contents?
