When editing my home node, the line
Last update: 0000-00-00 00:00:00
is somewhat less than informative. This is surely a bug...

Update: If the last update time is supposed to be that for the picture and not for the node, I can understand that it might default to zero for pictureless monks like myself. But the way it is worded suggests it references the whole node.

That line is (IIRC) more of a debugging message that perhaps should just be removed (certainly at least reworded). This particular "last update" field is for finding recently updated home nodes and so it is only updated if you check the "this is a significant update?" box or if you change your picture.

Oh, and there was a bug a while ago that caused this field to be updated constantly. So don't reply saying that you've never uploaded a picture and never checked the "significant update" box but your "last update" isn't zero. (Except that geek humor says someone will reply exactly that way now just because...)

Thanks tye, for clarifying on this matter.

In this case, I would suggest simply renaming it from "Last update" to "Last significant update", unless that would entail changing too many dependent nodes.

For completeness I would also suggest adding the fact that a changed image will have the same effect as checking the "significant update" box to the help.

mhi might one day, when he's farther along the road of attaining PM sainthood, humbly write patches like these himself. At this point he hasn't even quite figured out yet which monks pray and fast over which monastic code... :-)

Update: Changing your user image does not affect this field; only checking the "significant update" box does.
