Hello again,Monks. Thanks for the replies. I simply wish to add a button next to minimize ,maximize close -that if I click on it -will minimize the window to systray.

    Look at tkruler, which has a hack to use a systray together with Perl/Tk.

    I think wperl.exe is your friend. Redirect your STDOUT/STDERR to wherever appropriate.(probably a logfile) So far as I know the usage is identical to that of perl.exe. That will hide the dos/command prompt that starts up - don't know if that solution is the question you were asking though.

    ActiveState sells a product called Perl Development Kit (PDK). There are several excellent utilities in there, that I use every day. One of which is called "PerlTray" and will package a perl script up into an EXE and allow it to run from the tray.
