At least once every 1 or 2 weeks, a monk comes along and posts a node that advocates "preview-only for non-editable nodes" and gets voted up, applauded, or pointed to the previous discussions.

well, i hadn't seen your previous node with this suggestion before posting, but here's what i have to say about the repetition: a good idea bears repeating where a bad one falls apart. people will continue to make suggestions regarding this issue as long as inexperienced monks have trouble using the posting system.
