Hi monks,

I had one last vote left today and I was curious what would happen if I used it to vote multiple nodes. So I voted some five nodes with that last vote. The very first of the five nodes shows the accumulated reputation, the usual behaviour. However, with the remaining four nodes, the reputations are not shown and the checkboxes are not present either.

Is this a bug or an intended feature?

The checkboxes are not present any time you have no votes left. Since you used your last vote on the first node, youhad none left for the others. This is expected.

    Cheers

I'd think it's the intended behavior. You had one vote left, it was applied to the first vote on the page. The subsequent choices were ignored since you didn't have any more votes, and since you haven't voted on them you don't see the reputation (and since you have no more votes you see no checkboxes).

Please see Voting/Experience System for all the gory details. In short, not a bug. :-)

    In long (and quoted:)

If you can't see any radio buttons, then you may be viewing something that can't be voted on or you may not have any votes to cast. If you own a node (you wrote it) or if you've already voted on a node, then you'll see the current reputation of the nodes instead of the buttons. The reputation is simply the number of up-votes cast minus the number of down-votes cast.

    • Update:
Personally I dont see why this node received so many down votes. The links to the Voting/Experience system aren't so obvious that I think this question deserves a downvote. Weren't any of the downvoters newbies at some point as well?! For the record I upvoted your question. People shouldn't be afraid of asking questions here.

Newbie pontiff? After three years? Not justifying, just not surprised...

True true. Henceforth all pontiffs will be regularly tested on their verbatim knowledge of the site faqs.

Failure to recite the faqs sufficiently accurately will result in 6 months forced labour programming PHP on a two key keyboard.

      Thanks, demerphq!

I don't remember reading about that before. I may have but I've little collection of it :)
