I can understand not wanting to predeclare all of one's variables...it can tend to be frustrating at times...*remembers back to his old VB days* But still, it's mearly a point of preference to most people. A majority usually don't care. If it has to be done, then it will be done.
As for programmes being lazy and having a lack of integrity reguarding code...I would have to say I disagree with this. I can understand that some newer programmers might not take kindly to their own code, but others who have been working with it for years value it immensely. I myself have only been coding in Perl for the better part of two years, but I value every line I have ever written, and always seek to improve it. Lazy programmers, arn't really programmers at all, that I can agree with...it's not often thought of, but we are essentially the crafters giving life to something new each time we begin our work.
