"how can I get the length of a string?"

  1. Double the length from an end to the midpoint
  2. Use a ruler
  3. wrap it around something of known dimensions
  4. Drive a mile/kilometer (use your odometer), then see how many string lengths it takes to travel that distance, and divide.
  5. Guess
  6. Lie
  7. Ask someone else
