I was not asking them to search for me. As the context you so nicely removed from my post tells you, I was suspecting that the module I would want would be under some silly, and somewhat daft codename. Such as I found 'POE' to be when I was trying to find some IRC modules , and LWP, when I was trying to find some HTTP modules. Keeping in mind that a search for IRC returns something with a sane name today. It was quite some time ago I needed to be pointed at POE.

But you admit that you "didn't bother to search CPAN". If you had bothered, you would have found several modules to do with modems. The first thing you should do when looking for a module that does FOO is to use search.cpan.org to search for FOO. You, however, appear to expect others to do that for you, because you can't be bothered to do it yourself.	[reply]
