Wassercrats has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

PPM won't install Crypt::Twofish. Anyone know of a PPM repository that has it so I don't have to do it the hard way, or a tutorial on using the Visual C++ Toolkit and sdkupdate and what ever else is necessary to install stuff like this?

I don't want to use the pure Perl version because PPM says it's below version 1.

Once again, I'm willing to do things the hard way, but there are no good instructions to be found.

take advantage of crazyinsomniac/PodMaster's ppm repository readme, this should provide you with a way to get the PPM created, if you can't find it at any of the other repositories.

Don't put too much weight in version numbers, they don't indicate code maturity in any reasonable fashion.
The docs for Crypt::Twofish::PP claim there are no (known) bugs, so unless you find otherwise in practice why not use it?
