LibXML install issues on SCO

Hello all,
I am trying very hard to install LibXML on SCO UNIX.

I first installed perl-5.8.4 with dynamic linking but when I was tried to install XML::LibXML::Common I got the following error for XML-LibXML-Common-0.13:

# make test

Path and other settings are as follows:

# echo $LD_RUN_PATH
/usr/local/lib
# echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
/usr/guest/XML-LibXML-Common-0.13
[download]

(I also tried LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib)

# ls -l /usr/local/lib/libxml2.so.2
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     sys            17 Jul 16 12:47 /usr/local/lib/
+libxml2.so.2 -> libxml2.so.8.6.11
# perl -v

This is perl, v5.8.4 built for i386-sco

Later, I install perl-5.8.4 with static linking which gives me the following error:

# make test

Although I could not find a ldconfig command for the SCO unix. ldconfig was not required. But your pointers led me to find out how to set the env on SCO. Newbie on SCO :( Thanks for your help!

Do you have the C library `libxml2` installed? Update: Heh, I completely missed that part. Anyway, on Linux I'd have to run `ldconfig` to tell the dynamic loader where my shared libraries live. I have no idea whether SCO has anything similar.	[reply] [d/l] [select]
