PerlingTheUK has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

In node Win32::GUI vs Tk this has been discussed, but as it is about three years later now I thought I'd bring it up again.

For a purely Windows tool, which is the GUI of choice. I could not find any quality documentation and apart from the GUILoft, there seems to be nothing really supporting the Windows Gui.

So how has anyone else based their decisions in the last couple of years?
Can I derive my own WinGUI classes as I can my Tk ones.

Thanks,
PerlingTheUK

There is some support for Win32::GUI but alternatives seem to be very popular. Personally I use Tk because I have found the cross-platform compatibility is good and I don't have trouble with my MAC or Linux users.
