I've worked here for 15 years (OMG), and have stumbled into this Perl thing as it's the only thing our creaking IT department will allow me to use to develop web apps for our Intranet. 9 times out of 10 the perl s‎crip‎t is executing a simple SQL statement and returning the results to an HTML page. Pretty basic stuff really. I'm not a trained developer and have ended up doing this stuff becuase the busienss needs it, but the IT department won't resource it. :sigh: Consequently, I may end up asking some really dumb questions at times, and I apologise in advance for that!
