Kiko has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hey,

I need to write a small unix shell that can fork a new
process and execute a command if it is valid, and a couple
of other things. Can someone please point me in the
right direction or tell me where i should start.

Thanks,
Kiko

    The Perl Shell (psh) http://www.focusresearch.com/gregor/psh/

(There is another one, but i can't recall it now.)

<a href=http://www.tpj.com/The Perl Journal issue #18 has an issue on psh. In the table it lists several other Perl shells, but his specs out best on features. The others listed are:

Wall, lpsh, debugger (meaning perl -de 42), perlsh, PSH.pm, SoftList, timtosh, vbsh
