Time Zone and date

shilpam has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Can someone suggest me a module to use for converting a date from one time zone to another. For e.g.
I get the start date for a class from the database. Irrespective of its timezone I want it to be converted to PST.

DateTime::TimeZone is my 1st choice. This module is superb. It even knows the daylight saving time oddities of certain counties in Indiana. Highly recommended!	[reply]

It is indeed superb. You can thank the Olson Timezone Database for that. The timezone specifics in DateTime::TimeZone are constructed directly from that compendium. Cheers, Matt	[reply]

I don't know of any offhand but it's probably come up before. Is there something that could do the job on CPAN; timezone ?	[reply]
