I guess, if instead of qx() you do:

my $pid = open JVM,"java|" or die;
[download]

you can kill off the jvm process with kill TERM => $pid.

All the threads inside a single process has the same PID. So it will not work. -DBC	[reply]

Note that this code does not kill() the thread, it kills another process: `open P,"program\|"` or `qx` will fork() and then exec() a new program, so that will have a different PID. "What should it profit a man, if he should win a flame war, yet lose his cool?"	[reply] [d/l] [select]
