What would you think if a newer version of compiler/interpreter made your code fininsh in one day rather than in two minutes? The whole point of my post is that it wasn't caused by a new version of Perl, but rather by things that Red Hat did when packaging Perl for RH 8/9. The regex change was a difference in Perl itself, but it was also fixing a bug so it seems like a resonable choice to include it.	[reply]
