It's not hanging. It's waiting for you to type something because you ran it with no arguments and it defaults to reading from STDIN. If you want to convert C header files you should Running "man h2ph" would have told you this.

    Thanks, h2ph * works fine. I was in fact in /usr/include before, but h2ph -r -l still hangs. What does * do that's different |?
