Have you looked at aced? It was included in a recent post about Perl/Linux and looks rather well far along, but the author has ceased development. You might pick up where he left off.

    thanks i will definitly check the sources, maybe the is something to disembowel but my concept is complete different by using scintilla and wxperl.
