I'm interested in what all of you think would be some nice features or additions to this site. Things currently in the works:
  • preview submissions
  • moderation/ranking for questions and answers in the categorized Q&A section. This will put the best, and most descriptive answers at the top, and those that are less helpful near the bottom. As for questions it'll allow the ones that are most general to move towards the top and others to filter down or disappear entirely if they're in the wrong place.
  • Some code optimizations.
  • Read more links for lengthy items on the frontpage.
  • Coding challenges? People could submit challenges and once a week or so I would pick a new one. Then people could submit solutions. The winners could be decided by voting, the person who submitted the challenge etc... and the winners would receive some form of recognition/position of stature.

Got other ideas? Opinions on any of these? Add your thoughts to the discussion.

How about a CPAN interface that lets people search for particular modules (recommended by other Monks)? You might even import some of the HTML-ized POD docs from those modules into Perl Monks documentation.

I'd like to see a link to pop-up a small window with code snippets in a larger font. I find the squinchy way code snippets are rendered to be painful. www.webtechniques.com has this feature.
I'll look into that. I don't know if you've seen it in your user settings but you should be able to bump up the size of the font in the options listed there. Let me know if this does the job for ya.

Whoops. I glossed right over that option. It did the trick. I feel like a schmuck. Sorry.
