DrWhy has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
Does anyone know where I can get sources to Experimental::Exception? We're upgrading to Perl 5.8.4 frm 5.6.1 -- or we want to, and we are dependent on Experimental::Exception, which has apparently an XS portion -- and I'm guessing these two versions are not compatible wrt the XS interface. Of course if they are compatible, then all I need to do is copy the files to the right place. If that is not the case, then I need to find the sources again. (We lost the original sources due to a failed disk some time ago...)
Of course, we could also port the system to use a more modern Perl exception mechanism, but I'm trying to avoid doing that at this time -- I got plenty enough on my plate as it is.
So back to my original query. Are the sources for Experimental::Exception sill available somewhere? Or alternatively, can someone assure me that the XS compiled for 5.6.1 will work under 5.8.4?
My great thanks to anyone who can enlighten this dark corner of my ignorance,
-- DrWhy
