Glad you got it sorted. This is unusual architecture (currently). Almost anything will compile from source on RH so I suggest investing a moment of two to learn about compiling from source may be worth your time. Often all you need is `./configure && make && make install` cheers tachyon	[reply] [d/l]

Thank-you again for your help! I've built some programs using the commands from above, but I really don't understand what to do when something goes wrong. I'm a MSCE who decided not to use any Microsoft products for my servers to increase security and reliability. I had 3 months to learn linux, PERL, MySQL, build the servers and get a program up and running for a 5,000+ person site with 15+ vendor interfaces: I've got a lot of gaps in my knowledge and understanding of how it all works. I can type many of the commands, but struggle when something goes wrong, this drives me crazy. Thank-you for the time you spent to help me out!! Mark	[reply]

Linux is really less secure than Win32 unless you know what you are doing. It used to be true that a default install of Redhat would be hacked within 24 hours of going online. What do your firewall(s) look like? cheers tachyon	[reply]
