    Do you think the number of posts on perlmonks should explode, with the majority of the posts being Me too (for the up-voters speaking up) and Me not (for the down-voters speaking up)?

      Certainly not, but I'd like to hear why or how do people disagree. If someone posts an incorrect advice you don't just downvote it, you post a correction.

        I downvoted it because I felt it was way off-topic.

        Instead of a general discussion about the informedness of voters, it turned into a discussion of some election in a far-away country, ie. into a discussion of some (I guess) political commentators whom I don't know - and probably have absolutely no reason to wish to know more about.
