The images of the books on page http://perlmonks.org/?node=Buy%20Stuff fail to appear.

Is the link broken or the server down?

Should be fixed now -- by removing the section. The links used to go to fatbrain.com, but fatbrain, and our kickback from them, hasn't existed in several years now -- they got bought out by barnes and nobels. (We could make a similar deal with, say, Amazon, but they're silly, and encode false statements about our busniess model into their agreement, which means that we cannot, in good faith, sign it. If you know of anybody who has such a program that we can enter into, please let us know.)

Whats that about Amazon and false statements?

"You will provide a Special Link (as defined below) from each Product reference on your site to the corresponding Amazon.com Site online catalog entry." That means that every time somebody mentions a book, we "will" make it into a link. The agreeement is hard to find, BTW, but should be available at http://associates.amazon.com/gp/associates/agreement/102-7756777-5967353.

There is also Another Bookshop, whose affiliate program agreement seems pretty liberal (although excessively indented ;-).

That seems to be british. While that's a good deal for me, it's not for the majority of our readers. (I'm not being deliberatly amerocentric here; it's a simple fact. This probably has a fair bit to do with the nature of meme propogation, and the simple fact that the US is huge.)
