I find that when I use Super Search, more often than not I check the "Don't include replies" button (most of the time I'm searching for titles by title rather than text).

Is this your experience too? I think it would be nice to make this option configurable either via User Settings or RAT-like Page Settings.

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

If you're just searching in titles, why are you not using the normal search box? (thats what it actually does).

    C.

Because that's not a 'Super' search: you can't specify what sections you want to search, or which authors you want to (in|ex)clude e.t.c. And more importantly you can't exclude replies (if you use the normal search box).

Case in point: before starting this thread, I did some research by doing a Super Search for PM Discussion nodes whose title contained 'Super Search' (I didn't find any questions similar to this one). But if you put 'Super Search' (without the quotes) into the normal search box, you will get the Super Search page itself instead of nodes with 'Super Search' in the title.

I believe the OP wants to search node text, but only top-level nodes, not simply node titles. At least, that's how I read it.

Sticky options on super search might be good. To make everybody happy, we could have a sticky option to control whether the other options are sticky...
