in reply to mozilla firefox search.cpan.org plugin

I'm confused. I've had a CPAN search engine plugin for Firefox for a long time. I even got it fro the site that you mention in your post. How is yours different?

    err... what is the URL?
Couldn't tell you, but if you go to the site that you specified initially, type "CPAN" in the "Site Name" text field, and hit the "Find Search Plugins", it comes up.

I think this is different... you can easily setup Firefox to search http://search.cpan.org, but the plugin in question (I think - haven't actually looked at it :) searchs all of CPAN .. which could be useful if the main search site goes down.
