Shouldn't that be:
find . -daystart -mtime +1 -exec rm -rf \{\} \;

Otherwise, you're starting in the '-daystart' directory within the CWD. :-)

    Nope, find recogizes that -daystart is a switch and defaults to the CWD. : ) Although you're right if you judge on the basis of clarity and caution; I probably should have included the ".".
