"'is evil' is the new 'considered harmful'"

"X is the new Y" is a formula sometimes referred to as "snowclones".

Of course, another such such formula recurrent in "lazy journalism" is "X considered harmful".

Somewhat infotainingly, The Wiki has an entry claiming that web redirects are considered harmful, given that "HTTP redirects are the new GoTo" — and we all know how evil GoTo is.

But also, English is the new Latin and Java is the new Cobol.

    I rather like the "is new" cliche. AFAIK, it started in the fashion world ("Pink is the new red"), and I like the idea of subverting their saying for my own evil purposes.
