Your problem may just be that you're doing 
for(something){
  open file
  get info
  write info to file
  close file
}

[download]
When you could do 
open file
for(something){
  get info
  write info to file
}
close file

[download]

($_='kkvvttuubbooppuuiiffssqqffssmmiibbddllffss')
=~y~b-v~a-z~s; print
