Would it be advantageous to anyone (besides me) if the Search function returned dated results. I know that SuperSearch returns dated results but it would be nice if that capability was added to basic Search as well. I don't mean the ability to search by date - I'm talking about just displaying the creation date of the results. With that additional information, you could quickly discard or ignore search results that because of their age are probably not applicable (e.g. you're looking for information on a bug in an old version of a module and want to ignore search results that are 'too new') or give priority to newer comments over older, possibly dated results.

There are many useful features that could be added to the Search button (really it's more of a find button). The feature you're requesting would be convenient, but there are a lot of other such features that would also be convenient. And in the end, if they all get added, what we'll have is another SuperSearch, but cluttering up every page instead of just the SuperSearch page. ;)

Update: Oh no, I misread it. I hate it when I do that. ;) Yes, it might be a great idea to add the creation date to the list returned by the "Search" button, and contrary to what I just posted, it wouldn't encumber every screen with too many features. ;) Sorry for the mixup.

As a matter of fact, adding creation date to the list of nodes returned by the Search button should be a pretty trivial patch to apply.
