It has more to do with me getting a clue in the last couple of days. I've been too busy to implement your way because it'd be changing/adding something to the DB and adding a hidden value in a lot of different forms. Then the last couple of days led me to think of a way to handle a lot of these pesky little problems without having to mess with the module code.
