The following item appears to have gone by and has remained largely unnoticed, so I thought I'd relay the information here.

Hugo van der Sanden (a.k.a. hv) has handed over the pumpkin to Rafael Garcia-Suarez for perl 5.10. Sadly, hv won't be able to overhaul the regexp engine as initially planned. I'd like to thank Hugo for his work, and sent my best wishes of encouragement to Rafael. Pumpkineering is a tiring, thankless job, and as Tim Bunce pointed out a while back, no-one who has ever stepped down as a Pumpking has volunteered to become one again :)
