On re-reading your post, you also seem to be of the opinion that giving out free samples of someone else's work is justified if in your opinion it helps to sell more items for the copyright holder.

Let me tell you that this is false. If I, as the copyright holder, decide that free samples will make me more money, I'll do that. It's not for you to decide. In some cases, yes, I'll permit that. In some cases, I won't. I have that right. You don't. "fair use" does not mean "free samples are OK". It's for an entirely different purpose.
