in reply to ppm initiation issues

If you are using PPM, I don't see anywhere in the documentation on CPAN that says that you can run it from the command prompt. Or have I misunderstood your question?

    I cannot duplicate this issue with my version of ppm and win (see details below); however, you should be able to run ppm from the command prompt, though I don't believe that is explicitly stated in any documentation. At least, you certainly ought to be able with Active-Perl installed.

    hmm... i type cmd in run box - opens dos window and i type ppm and get the error then i get the ppm prompt
