Hi all, I was learning about images' modules and suddenly a question occured to me : "Do any OCR (Optical Character Recognition) modules exist in Perl ?". Can somebody answer ? Thanks, Iso

    Not related to perl, but the Sane project's scanner UI has an "OCR" button which actually works pretty well. Does anybody know where the implemenation to this is?
      If I remember correctly, it relies/requires [gj]ocr to do its thing.

    No, and from what I hear, OCR technology is so patent-encombered that a Free Software implementation is out of the question for the forseeable future.
