dunstable has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Oh wise monks of Perl, I beg of you to assist me in my quest, which is the one of installing and configuring the message board Meep (http://www.standpipe.com/site/meepboard.html), whithout having shell access to my server. It says I need a telnet access, but I am hoping this can be done without it. Can it be done, and how? Respect.

    dunstable, welcome to the monastery.
    I hope you end up sticking around for a while, especially since you may or may not get some angry responses for posting a question that is not really a perl question.

    I do have a few suggestions though:
    1) Read up on CGI courtesy of OVID and think about doing it yourself or modifying something that is open source.
    2) Ask you server provider webhost to install it for you
    3) if they decline to install for you, look for another webhost.
    4)stick around the monastery and never forget to use strict;
    -Kevin
    my $a='62696c6c77667269656e6440676d61696c2e636f6d'; while ($a=~m/(^.{2})/s) {print unpack('A',pack('H*',"$1"));$a=~s/^.{2}//s;}
      Oh, ok. Sorry about that. I will indeed hang around for my punishment which, in view of the fellony, I'm sure will be severe. Thanks.

    Welcome to the monastery! This is the nicest flaming I've ever encountered. Once again, the monks demonstrate their quality.
