Monastery bug report: Incorrect number of remaining votes.

Hi All,

I am an acolyte with voting power of 8 votes per day.

I logged into perlmonks.org today morning 10 AM IST and casted 7 votes.

There was a single vote left but i tried to vote 2 nodes.

After the page refreshed , I have 7 votes left.

I kindly request the monks -> saints to verify this and let the group know wether the bug exists or not.

I am sorry I did not find a link which takes me to reporting a bug , maybe its not the significant link and I have not went deeper , so I am posting this.

You do understand that at about 12:30AM EST, PM goes through and allots all the votes for the day? Perhaps you managed to hit that time? I'd call it lucky, and keep going, myself. ;-)	[reply]

... PM goes through and allots ... To be precise, the vote fairy visits around that time. Occasionally the timing varies, and sometimes the visits don't happen at all. <grumble>In my day we'd take whatever votes we got and be happy about it.</grumble> Do not rebuke them with harsh words ... but rather lead them gently - with URLs - so that they may learn wisdom. Hi All again, I wonder is there anything wrong with me or my machine, yesterday i reported that i recieved an extra 8 votes and there were some justifications given but today I have no votes at all. I logged out 12 hours before and also my last login is atleast 24 hrs before. Please look into this Prad To have a poor father is fate , To have a poor father-in-law is foolishness.	[reply]

Methinks you're a bit excited to vote. It's not as much fun as it sounds ;-) According to your list of posts, your original question and this one were both on the same day (to the PM server). Specifically, about 23 hours apart. As I said earlier, votes are alloted around 12:30AM EST - which is about 35 minutes after the post I'm replying to. As others pointed out (well, just one other :-}), this is +/- a bit, and some nights may not happen at all (although in my 30-ish days here, I've never noticed it not happening). Calm down. :-)	[reply]
