Nope. Didn't work. Thanks for the attempt, though... 
Can't use subscript on subroutine entry at ldaptest1.pl line 26, near

(Did you mean $ or @ instead of &?)
Execution of ldaptest1.pl aborted due to compilation errors.

I think I'll keep what I already have since it's easy to manipulate, unless thee's another solution out there.

    have use thingies ('( )') ;)))
