the python community has a very nice feature -- they moved their documentation from python.org/docs to docs.python.org i dont know how docs.perl.* could happen -- but it would be nice if docs.perlmonks.org could happen why? because this way you can use a search engine to limit queries to documentation -- ie, just google "open file site:docs.perlmonks.org"

        http://perldoc.perl.org/ is the canonical online source for Perl documentation these days.

      I've had terrible luck with perldoc.com lately; doc.perl.com++.
        Not that this addresses the OP, but another place to see Perl docs online is at ActiveState.
