The title is probably misleading to most less experienced Perl programmers. I bought it because I buy every O'Reilly book that has to do with Perl. I wasn't entirely sure what I was getting, although I knew that the book was meant to talk about things like the FedEx Package Tracker.
Of course, I realize why it is called "Web Client Programming" now that I have written more than one LWP-based program.
It's a shame that they have allowed it to go out of print. On the other hand, it is in need of update because many of the modules discussed have been modified several times since then. | [reply] |
