Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

when i executed a perl script i got error like this
^G^GERROR: File output.cmd could not be opened.
what is meant by this and how this can be removed

    ^G (control-G) is a bell. For some reason, your shell isn't interpreting it as such. Whoever had written the script tried to get it to beep twice when it printed the error message. Look through the code for Error: File or could not be opened, and look to see under what sitations it would be called.
