in reply to Staying logged in to perlmonks.org

Are you initially coming to perlmonks.org or www.perlmonks.org? I use the latter and have never had a problem.

Being right, does not endow the right to be rude; politeness costs nothing.
Being unknowing, is not the same as being stupid.
Expressing a contrary opinion, whether to the individual or the group, is more often a sign of deeper thought than of cantankerous belligerence.
Do not mistake your goals as the only goals; your opinion as the only opinion; your confidence as correctness. Saying you know better is not the same as explaining you know better.

I use both and have never had a problem. I log into perlmonks.org and can temporarily "log out" by adding the www. to the browser URI box and hitting enter. It's a matter of which URI the cookie is assigned to: www.perlmonks.org can have a different cookie than perlmonks.org.

Why do i do this? Just to quickly verify what the diff between my user CSS and the default CSS is. Please don't attempt this trick to manage mulitple accounts, as the gods will most likely find out and possibly take away your voting priviledge.
