I'm using UniverSQL (http://www.sidespace.com) to access a MS SQL server from Linux. It has its own DBD module and a DBI-independent client. Actually, it comes with sample clients in Perl, PHP, Phyton, Java. It is however a commercial product. Single connection license is about 50 dollars. But maybe its an option for you.
thanks. I just do some test. So I will not use commercial product.
