I've never seen a MacOSX update that modified the Perl install. Here's what I get from my systems:
- 10.2 : v5.6.0 built for darwin
- 10.3 : v5.8.1-RC3 built for darwin-thread-multi-2level (with 1 registered patch)
- 10.4 : v5.8.6 built for darwin-thread-multi-2level (with 2 registered patches)
Update: Looking at opendarwin, it would seem that from 10.0 to 10.1 shipped with 5.6.0, but I started with 10.2, so I can't confirm it to be correct. I know that there are installer packages from Server Logistics for 5.8.0 for both 10.1 and 10.2. (10.0 was basically 'beta' quality, and if memory serves, the upgrade from 10.0 to 10.1 was free).

I know for sure that 10.2.0 comes with 5.6.0 and that 10.3.0 comes with 5.8.1.
Can anybody provide any info on 10.1?
Thanks in advance for all answers!!

I believe 5.8 shipped with 10.1 and 10.2; I'm not at home and can't say with absolute certainty, but I'm 99% sure. 10.4 is not out until this Friday, so you'll have to get some other lucky individual (who actually gets to program on OS X for a living and has the preview) for info on it.

IIRC (not at home either) that 10.1.x and 10.2.x had Perl 5.6.1 but 10.3.x has Perl 5.8.1. But as I said, I'm not at home either and am just going from memory :-)
