Just use BLT via Tcl::Tk and you will be out of a problem: see screenshots at http://vkonovalov.ru/cgi-bin/perl-tcltk-wiki.cgi/38 and http://vkonovalov.ru/cgi-bin/perl-tcltk-wiki.cgi/40

This will get some efforts to move from Tk to Tcl::Tk, but other gainings worth the effort, in my opinion.
