Is this fair? Why do you include a || 1 in the map versions, but not the for version?

Since map returns the value in the BLOCK, there would be differing results if the OP didn't do this. Although, to be completely fair, you could do: `s/0/./g; $_;` [download]	[reply] [d/l]
